Programs

First Friday Breakfasts

Business people who are interested in networking, hearing updates from elected officials and participating in networking games start their day having breakfast with the Chamber.  Informational speakers help you stay informed of business issues you need to understand.  First Friday Breakfasts provide members with direct access to local, state, and federal officials in an informal and friendly setting.

International Trade Missions

The Chamber may be situated in East County but our vision and goals extend throughout the entire world. With this vision in mind, the Chamber sponsors international travel in order to put our local businesswomen and men in direct personal contact with entrepreneurs from around the world. Our most recent trip brought us to China, where participants met with local business leaders.

Trade Shows

Do you have a great business model, or an up and coming idea? Showcase your company at one of our regional trade shows. Exposure to the public is essential for the success of any business. By pairing our events with the San Diego East Visitor’s Bureau we ensure an even greater pool of potential customers.

Leadership East County

"Building Our Community One Person at a Time,” the goals of the program are to identify and motivate current and emerging leaders committed to the improvement of East County while acquainting participants with East County's assets, needs and challenges.  Leadership East County provides a forum to identify, understand, discuss, and resolve challenges with experienced community leaders.  The program encourages active community involvement, whether it is by forming strong business leaders, through public service, non-profit organizations, or volunteering. Participants of the program are people who make a difference in the community as well as increasing personal awareness and confidence.  For more information please visit the Leaderhship East County committee page.

Ethics in Business

The Ethics in Business Program, presented by the Business Education Committee of the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce was developed to educate high school seniors about situations and dilemmas that occur in the workplace. Chamber members participate by facilitating seminars with groups of 6 high school students as they discuss real life ethical dilemmas.  The Chamber works closely with all twelve schools in the Grossmont Union High School District to be of service to our community’s youth.

This program was awarded the “Education Partnership Award” by the California Foundation for Commerce and Education.

Career Awareness Day

The Career Awareness Day is the counterpart to the Ethics in Business Program. The program exists to introduce 8th grade students to the economic possibilities in East County as well as to promote inquiry into the relationship of government, education, and the business community. Students spend a morning learning about a local enterprise and then attend a luncheon with their hosts.

Business and Politics

The San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Dinner combines great food with straight political talk from East County's elected officials.  Paneled by the officials who help shape the policies that affect East County businesses, the venue provides a forum for members' questions to be addressed in an interactive and informative atmosphere.   Business and Politics always provides good entertainment, good food and invaluable interaction with our elected officials.
